About

Where It All Began:

SwimTwins was established in 2019, by twin sisters, Melanie, and Melisa. The sisters grew up in Singapore and from a young age developed a passion for swimming. Having both competed in the sport at a national level, they were taught the importance of proper technique and training methods, thus inspiring them to start a swim school of their own. This level of expertise, coupled with their love for children, has translated into excellent results, with the company having expanded significantly in the 3 years since its launch. Today, SwimTwins hosts over 200 students, and employs 20 experienced and energetic coaches. And this is just the beginning.

Our Mission:

The SwimTwins mission is to offer an exceptional quality of swimming lessons that students can access from either the comfort of their own homes or our state-of-the-art indoor heated salt pool. With all four head coaches having a background in competitive swimming, we aim not only to specialise in water enjoyment and safety, but also to focus on proper technique, thus shaping children into future competitive swimmers. In doing so, we strive to change the landscape of swimming in Singapore.

Our Coaches:

SwimTwins cofounder and coach, Melisa, has extensive experience in working with children, having taught swimming, gymnastics and cheerleading in both Singapore and the UK. She grew up and studied in Singapore and went on to complete her bachelor’s degree at King’s College London. Melisa was also a Singapore national team swimmer who raced at meets in Singapore, as well as overseas, and through this experience, discovered her passion for the sport. Melisa hopes for her students to reach a competitive level whereby they can eventually represent Singapore themselves.

SwimTwins cofounder and coach, Melanie, grew up swimming competitively in Singapore, competing at a national level and specializing in long distance freestyle events. Whilst attending the University of Warwick in the UK, she realized her love for teaching through her work coaching multiple sports to children, illustrating her desire to start Swim Twins. Coach Melanie has a goal to expand and increase accessibility to quality swimming lessons in Singapore, through building many outlets amongst a diverse range of areas.

Coach Charmaine started swimming competitively at a young age and has represented Singapore in numerous national competitions. Being the youngest in the training group throughout her competitive years, she learnt that age does not matter if great effort is being put in. She is a breaststroke specialist and has held the top position amongst her peers through the years.  Coach Charmaine enjoys spending time with kids and always strives to have a fun and progressive class.
